Place Vision and Strategy

Vision and strategy are foundational for creating better places: The process itself joins together community and stakeholder input, clarity on direction and setting your place up for future delivery. This creates buy-in, energy and action.

Innovative Insights

Place research, data and exemplars: Bringing this together is often the vital spark needed to help shift what can be imagined for a place. It also includes evaluation of what has been tried before, and setting you up to monitor ongoing actions and activities.

Progressive Community-led Planning

Co-design, collaborative and early planning: Using these approaches part of community action plans, input on masterplans and development proposals, Local Place Plans…these methods are creative and empowering. This can be done as a standalone process, or part of a wider place vision and strategy.

  • Director, MRTPI

    Places tell stories and I specialise in reshaping the narrative of places and spaces through innovative thinking. Supporting and co-designing with stakeholders, communities, local authorities, and organisations, I help navigate creatively towards achieving impactful and sustainable outcomes.

    Numerous plans and strategies are under my belt, with several being recognised for their approach and content in RTPI Awards, regionally and nationally: Your Kirky Town Centre Action Plan (2020), Warrington Central 6 Masterplan (2021) and most recently Fraserburgh Beach Masterplan won the RTPI Scotland Award in the Best Plan category (2024). I was also a finalist for the 2021 Young Planner of the Year award.

    Alongside planning, I have spread my wings into plantech, (think fintech, but planning) and was part of a team who were accepted onto the 2022 CivTech programme.

    I bring an honest and calming work style to any project I'm involved in. And if there is ever opportunity to inject fun or pleasure into the process, I try not to miss!
